Waltham Forest launch 450-home vision for Town Hall

The London Borough of Waltham Forest has released new plans for the redevelopment of its Town Hall.

The council hopes to build a 450-home development on their Town Hall Campus, and will now look for a partner to deliver the project.

Their plan will see staff from ten older, less efficient council offices across the borough move into new office space on the Town Hall Campus site. This will unlock new land for the new housing, which they say will be 50% affordable.

Initial plans for the site were revealed in 2017 but following a public consultation they have increased the number of homes by over 150 and upped the affordability quota from 35% to 50%. The revised plan also safeguards the green space of the Town Hall Campus so that it can be used for events and concerts.

Expressions of Interest in the project have been invited via the London Development Panel (LDP2).

The redeveloped Town Hall campus will be a one-stop shop for our residents, and a single site from which the majority of Council staff can work.’
