Nexus Planning has launched an infrastructure planning team to support what it considers to be a major growth sector.
The team will be headed up by Andrew Walters (pictured), the newly appointed director of infrastructure planning, who joins from GL Hearn / Capita.
With more than 25 years’ experience, he will build on the consultancy’s existing infrastructure and energy expertise.
‘It’s a pleasure to join the dynamic team at Nexus Planning, and I’m keen to hit the ground running,’ said Mr Walters.
‘In this leadership role, I’ll be seeking to bring key insights into energy and transport in a post-pandemic world. I plan to implement a strategy centred on the route towards a green and just recovery from the pandemic, by raising questions on how far our municipal authorities can go in promotion of radical thinking in urban policy.’
Roger Tustain, managing director of Nexus Planning, added: ‘As an aspirational young business, we have, for some time, identified the potential opportunities in major infrastructure planning to augment our current planning consultancy services.
‘With the government’s commitments to significant infrastructure growth, and the renewed emphasis on sustainable energy, we are absolutely delighted to welcome Andrew, a high calibre and respected professional, to our growing team. His role will be to lead and grow this specialist service with the support of our existing expert professional services in Town Planning, Research and Analytics and Environmental Impact Assessment.’
